I became a millionaire in one year, all it took was a small loan of a million dollars from my father. I’m kidding that’s now how it happened. I made a video about how to become a millionaire in one year (my plan), and now it's about 1 year later and I want to give you an update. Getting to a million took developing good habits early on, and following them consistently by living below your means, saving money, and investing it. Let's break down my net worth and invested assets into 3 categories.
1. Cryptocurrency
The first one is my cryptocurrency investments which I hold in BlockFi, and here it is - the total balance in my BlockFi account is roughly $438,457. I’ve talked about them before but an incredibly powerful savings account for your cryptocurrency. You can hold different currencies and depending on which ones you deposit, your savings rate will go up and down. For example if you deposit something like USDC which is a stable coin from coinbase, a big crypto broker, you’ll get their maximum rate of 8.6%. They make money by taking our savings, and using them to lend out your money with high interest rates, and in return for keeping your money with them, they pay out a high interest rate and they keep the difference between the money they lend out, and they money they pay us. My bitcoin and ethereum holdings have been my best investments this year.
2. Stock Market
I have 3 main accounts in the stock market, my retirement account with M1 Finance, my trading account (which I don't use often) with WeBull, and my main account which has all my dividend stocks which is Robinhood. It’s worth roughly $282,457 which is nice, but it’s not as nice as the $7,638 I made in 2020 from just holding on to the stocks I have anyway, which I then reinvested back into the portfolio and it’s grown a lot because energy stocks have been crushing it. I try to invest like a contrarian by buying what people think is unpopular which is why my energy stocks have performed extremely well these last few months.
3. Cash
The total amount I have in all my banks across all my accounts is 1,428,000. The reason I have so much cash is becauseI’m about to pay a huge tax bill, and I’m trying to buy real estate. Since I can’t get financing - I have to buy it in cash. But for now, this brings my total net worth to $2,195,457 - not counting this months income which is going to be one of the highest incomes I’ve ever had so that number might be closer to 2.4 million.
Treat your income not like your true income. Instead, It’s the passive income that is the real number, which is why I still live way below my means. My true income at this point is not very high but I’m working on it every single day. Even though I’ve made a substantial amount of money with YouTube in 2020, I don’t buy fancy stuff, instead I continue to reinvest it so that the Andrei Jikh of the future, can look back at the Andrei of today and be proud that I had the foresight to take care of my older self by living below my means, and investing consistently. Set good habits early on and stick to them.
I also bought 100 shares of Apple because the tech sector had a selloff due to fear of unfavorable regulation. I'm underweighted in the tech sector which means I need to own more stocks in the technology sector and Apple is my favorite. It's almost never on discount but when it is, I will always invest in it!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STOCK MARKET?
We’ve had a rollercoaster of a week in the stock market with stocks going down thanks to Target and Walmart bad earnings, then the stock market went up thanks to Costco, Macy’s, Nordstrom and the Dollar tree Store reporting good earnings then the stock market fell because now we have to come face to face with the final boss.
WHAT HAPPENED TO SOLANA?
We got a shutdown of a major network in crypto called Solana which is a competitor to Ethereum and they just suffered an outage.
HIRING FREEZES HAVE STARTED:
Coinbase, as well as Gemini is starting to cut 10% of its workforce because according to them the crypto winter is finally here. B
INFLATION CONCERNS:
Concerns about inflation thanks to energy prices reaching an all time high are back. Now predictions estimate gas prices will nationally reach $5 a gallon soon.
PERSONAL SAVINGS RATE:
The thing that has people really worried - is the United States personal savings rate just reached the lowest level since 2008.
QUANTITATIVE TIGHTENING:
When the central bank buys those assets - it “modulates” their prices and therefore their interest rates because by buying the assets - the prices goes up and it allows the Fed to keep the rates low in order to stimulate economic growth which is what we had to do and why we saw mortgage interest rates drop to crazy low levels and real estate appreciated by 30.4% in the last two years.
Now that they want to slow inflation down, they have to reverse the engine by selling off the assets they bought because by selling them - their prices go down - and therefore interest rates go up and that’s how they drain the liquidity out of the system.
HOW LONG WILL THIS TAKE?
On June 1st - we’re going to start with $47.5 billion with $30 billion going toward treasuries, and $17.5 billion going toward MBSs. After 3 months of selling $47.5 billion - starting in September - we will double it to $95 billion a month with $60 billion going toward Treasury Bonds, and 35 billion toward MBSs.
Citigroup believes that they're going to sell until reserves drop somewhere around $2.5 trillion which will be at the end of 2024, and Barclays estimates it’s closer to $2 trillion.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO INTEREST RATES?
Guesses range anywhere between .25% and 1.25%.
IS THAT WHY THE MARKET IS SO VOLATILE?
Yes. There's no much historical data to compare to and that’s why some people sell out of all their investments, some people buy more bonds, some are selling crypto. It’s the cloud of uncertainty that affects everything - not just stocks and bonds - but real estate and crypto and everything in between.
WHAT ABOUT PERSONAL SAVINGS RATE?
Yep, it just dropped to the lowest levels since 2008. Watch the video to find out what it means!

2 years ago I made a video about the top 7 stocks that pay you money and in that video I talked about the best dividend stocks that you can own forever. But in today’s video I wanted to share with you my top 10 best stocks if I had $1,000 to invest with and someone forced me to pick 10 stocks and I needed to create a portfolio today. This is what I would do.
10. Amazon is now valued over 1.6 trillion dollars and if I only had $1,000 - it would be very tempting not to put all of that in this stock, but we want to be diversified so I’d put in $100 of my $1,000. Now for me, this is a stock I’m going to probably load up on relatively soon and put in $50k to $100k, it’s been a long time coming, I’ve been looking at this stock and I’m like when do I buy this thing? It doesn’t go down. So for me, this will be a very long term investment for the next 10 to 20 years from now, there is no way this company isn’t worth double or triple what it is today. And because their quarterly earnings didn’t impress the analysts - the stock finally dropped so now might be a good time to buy.
9. Johnson and Johnson. This is a pharmaceutical company. I’ve owned Johnson and Johnson since 2014, I bought shares when it was just under $100 and they’ve been a powerhouse of passive income and one of the things that interested me the most about it is that I heard it was a dividend aristocrat (a stock that has been paying dividends, passive income, to investors for at least 25 years in a row without interrupting and without stopping) Johnson and Johnson has done not just 25 years, but 58 years without a dividend cut.
8. Tesla. More than just a tech company it’s a car company, it's a tech company that will most likely play a huge role in not only the tech space but the energy space and potentially the finance space as well. Tesla owns Solar City, they install solar roof panels, they sell cars, they have powerful battery technology, they have arguably the most advanced self driving product on the market with the most integrated charging platform in the world and in the future I think Elon and Tesla will integrate cryptocurrency into their pipeline as well. According to Morningstar the fair price is $570.
7. Disney. An innovation powerhouse. Their latest product - the Disney Plus streaming platform has been a huge revenue maker for them. They got over 95 million subscribers on the Disney Plus platform in the first 14 months. In just a year and two months they were able to beat their 4 year goal. Their new 4 year goal is to hit a quarter of a billion subscribers by 2024.
6. Google. In 2015 they reported a second quarterly earnings of 17.7 billion dollars. Just recently, they reported a revenue of 61.9 billion dollars just 6 years later which is also 62% higher than the second quarter of last year when the pandemic happened. Just for context, there are 2 billion people on YouTube right now, that is 26% of the entire world’s population that uses YouTube and that number will continue to grow.
5. Facebook. Facebook owns FB marketplace, Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, Instagram and they’re launching their own cryptocurrency called Diem and The Metaverse which is virtual reality sort of like in Ready Player One. Like them or not, Facebook has an insane amount of potential in the future even when factoring the risk of regulation. They have so much valuable data and there’s anyone that will compete with Google in the future, it will be Facebook. The share price is trading at slightly below fair value which may be a good time to buy in.
4. KO Coca Cola! A Warren Buffett favorite and Warren Buffett proves that drinking Coca Cola doesn’t affect your longevity. Like Johnson and Johnson they’ve they are a dividend aristocrat that have been paying their shareholders dividends for 58 years in a row. Their payout ratio is 74% but their dividend safety score is still 80 which is solid.
